You will avoid Late Enrollment Penalties, if you enroll during the Initial Enrollment Period three months before, the month of, and three months after reaching age 65.

You should enroll in Part A (no premium) and you will avoid a Late Enrollment Penalty as long as your company plan is deemed to be Credible Coverage (Coverage comparable to Medicare).

For fully eligible enrollees, Medicare Part A is a zero dollar premium benefit. For calendar year 2025, the Part B premium is $185 per month. This premium is adjusted each year, announced in October, and becomes effective the following January 1st. Individuals not fully qualified may purchase Part A depending on their years of employment.

Yes. Medicare Advantage Plans are specific to your residence. If you move out of your Medicare Advantage plan's service area, you have a Special Enrollment Period to change plans. This period begins either the month before you move, or the month you notify your plan of your move and lasts for two full months after that. 

Individuals over age 18 receiving SSDI will qualify for Original  Medicare in the twenty-fifth month of their disability. Medicare Advantage Prescriptions Drug Plans, called Dual Special Need Plans, that add Supplemental Benefits, are available in some states.

In 2025, Medicare Part B premiums for high-income individuals, those subject to IRMAA (Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount), will range from $259 to $628.90 per month. This is in addition to the standard Part B premium of $185 per month. The IRMAA is determined by income reported on 2023 tax returns and applies to individuals with incomes above $106,000 and couples filing jointly with incomes above $212,000.

Yes, a spouse who has never worked can be eligible for Medicare if the working spouse has met the eligibility requirements of having worked for at least 10 years (40 quarters) and paid Medicare taxes.
